Prof. Prakash Panangaden Elected as 2020 ACM Fellow

Prof. Prakash Panangaden has been elected as a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). This award is ACM's most prestigious member grade, and recognizes the top 1% of ACM members for significant contributions to computing and information technology.

Prof. Panangaden has been awarded with the citation: "For making continuous state systems amenable to logical and computational treatment."

Prof. Panangaden's research contributions span the areas of programming languages, concurrency theory, Markov processes, duality theory, quantum information theory, and machine learning. He won the 2017 Test-of-Time Award from LICS, the ACM-IEEE Symposium on Logic in Computer Science. He became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2013, and received the Leo Yaffe Award for Outstanding Teaching in 1999.
