McGill computer science B.Sc./MSc. graduate Alan Emtage was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame this fall. Alan was one of the pioneers of internet searching, creating Archie, the first internet search engine back in 1989. He was also one of the founding members of the Internet Society, and chaired several working groups, including the one which established the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) standard.
